The Representative Office of Bank Indonesia (Bank Indonesia KPW Propinsi NTT) for East Nusa Tenggara Province visited Alor Regency on October 17-21, 2024, to extend support for local Kenari nut farmers. It’s highlighting Bank Indonesia’s commitment to strengthen local economy while preserving Alor’s unique natural resources.
Kenari nut is the fruit kernel of Kenari tree (Canarium indicum L.), an endemic treasure of Alor, is not just a commodity—it represents a way of life, a deep connection to the nature, and an opportunity for economy growth.

Through the supply-chain network established with Mama Ana , Alor’s Kenari nut industry has created economic opportunities, enabling farmers to gain better market access & hence increase their income.

By supporting Kenari nut cultivation done by local farmers, Bank Indonesia helps secure Kenari’s long-term sustainability, ensuring benefits for generations to come. This initiative not only empowers farming communities but also reinforces Alor’s reputation as home to high-quality local products.
