Oil-free roasted local nuts made with natural seasonings
Granulated palm sugar made from the sap of Lontar tree (Borassus flabelifer) with specific caramel-toffee like aftertaste
Description
Lontar (Borassus flabellifer) palm tree is also one of these many endemic plants to East Nusa Tenggara province; though no updated statistical data of the population of Lontar tree, you can always easily encounter the Lontar or palmyra trees in the lower altitude – near coastal areas of the many islands in the region, with Rote (Roti) and Sabu (Savu) islands being the most popular islands associated with Lontar tree. As far as our local history recalls, the Rotines & the Savunes have loon been known for mastering the production of the famous delicious Lontar palm sugar (both granule & liquid states) which has been one of the leading local economy movers. Rote island is also known as Nusa Lontar or the Island of Lontar, due to the high population of the trees there.
We work closely with Lontar sugar farmers to supply us with fresh granulated sugar of the season, the raw sugar then further treated, conditioned and packed at our facility. Lontar palm sugar stands out amongst other palm & coconut sugar for its distinctive caramel-toffee-like flavour, suitable for wide ranges of F & B application.
